THE IMI project FAIRPlus has officially kicked-off on 1 January 2019. Coordinated by ELIXIR, the project will develop a methodology how to make IMI and EFPIA data FAIR. More information will be available soon.
Research Associate in the field of clinical and translational medicine informatics
ELIXIR Luxembourg is currently looking to hire a Research Associate in the field of clinical and translational medicine informatics.
The position involves the development of transparent criteria for the selection of data sources within completed and ongoing IMI projects for FAIRification – the process to improve the level of Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability and Reusability of data.

Research Engineer – EUCANCan project
The Computational Genomics group is looking for a highly motivated Research Engineer willing to contribute to the field of cancer genomics. The group is currently pushing and coordinating different international initiatives to develop and implement bioinformatics and computational infrastructures for genomic oncology, which will support personalized diagnosis, prevention and treatment protocols within a Personalized Medicine environment. All this activity is carried out within a international and collaborative working environment that involves leading groups and consortia in the field of oncology, bioinformatics and computing.

Handbook of Operations
The ELIXIR Handbook of Operations is the main source of information on ELIXIR procedures, recommendations and guidelines. The handbook is aimed for the whole ELIXIR community, including all individuals in ELIXIR Nodes, ELIXIR Hub staff, ELIXIR Board members and national funders.

The ELIXIR 5th Anniversary conference, took place last week on Tuesday in Brussels, Belgium. The slides and photos will soon be available online.
The 5th Anniversary Conference also officially presented ELIXIR new Scientific Programme for 2019-23. Print copies will be distributed to ELIXIR Nodes in January 2019.
Key Contributors Update, 14 December 2018
This update is sent weekly on Friday afternoon and goes to ELIXIR key stakeholders. It contains requests for actions regarding operations and developments within ELIXIR. Contact [email protected] for any questions.

Rare Diseases Infrastructure
This Study will build on recent developments across the RD community by aligning and securely interconnecting existing international infrastructures (RD-Connect, European Genome-phenome Archive (EGA), and tranSMART) with the general ELIXIR infrastructure. Tasks will develop upon services provided by ELIXIR Nodes and international standards such as those from the Global Alliance for Genomics and Health (GA4GH).
