Preferences regarding disclosure of risk for Parkinson's Disease in a populationbased study

An ELIXIR Luxembourg paper

Early detection of Parkinson's disease may be a key requirement for successful testing of putative diseasemodifying treatments. In the last decade, several approaches to estimate PD risk have been developed including algorithms derived from the assessment of multiple risk markers as well as the use of single risk markers such as hyposmia as a starting point. In this paper, the researchers reported results of a pilotstudy on risk disclosure preferences performed within the Healthy Brain Aging (HeBA) initiative targeting individuals from the general population.

User-friendly ISA-based metadata annotation of life science experiments with ISA Wizard

A BioHackathon Germany report

Proper metadata annotation of the experimental outcomes is crucial to guarantee that the results data of life science experiments align with the FAIR guidelines. The widely accepted metadata annotation format for this field is the Investigation-Study-Assay (ISA) framework. However, achieving FAIR-compliant annotation of life science experiments is currently hindered by several challenges. This project is developing an intuitive and user-friendly tool called ISA-Wizard, a domain-agnostic successor to the MIAPPE-Wizard.
